Hello Bangalore

I reached Bangalore on 24-Feb-10 at 10:30am. I was been to Bangalore when I was a kid, since then a lot has changed. My school friend Anil who was working as HR in IBM guided me and helped me a lot on that day. I got into a bus from airport and reached his house in Jayanagar, he came to pick me up and we had lunch at some MTR hotel (which was authentic and nice). Then he went to his office, I watched TV for sometime, watched half of a movie in my laptop. Then I took a cab from there to Singasandra where my company has provided accommodation. I checked in, the accommodation was good, I went to have dinner in the food court which took almost 1.5 hours in the rush only to eat a not so tasty veg biryani. I decided not to have dinner in the food court from the next day. Next day was my first day at office, it was thursday, my first day went on well with the joining formalities, they put me in a project and later I did a little reading in the library. Second day, I was put into project and I was amazed to see all kinds of chat messengers installed in my system and all kinds of social networking sites were accessible (which was not the case in my previous company). But, without work it is really boring even if you have 1000 friends online... it's fun to chat while working ;-)
I have decided to meet Sunil in the weekend and to check how much time it would take from office to his room, as I had to stay there in the same room from next week. I got into a bus from Singasandra to Silkboard, from there I took an auto to Marathalli where Sunil was waiting for me :) We met in Marathalli, as soon as we saw each other, he shouted "Dude!!! Welcome to Bangalore..."
The company transport was good, so I opted for a cab from BEML to Office (26kms) which is far better than going on bike daily. It is almost 2 months by now, I paid life time road tax for my bike so that we can roam without bounds, got used to the company and colleagues, got to know few routes necessary for living in CV Raman Nagar, tried to learn Kannada but already Bangalorians learnt Telugu so everybody outside communicated in telugu which was good though. Bangalore is now not a new place for me :) but there is lot more to explore... lets see how it goes...

Goodbye Hyderabad

Wow! finally I got time to write something that I was planning from a long time. I changed my job recently, I had to move to Bangalore. I had almost 10 days time to join the new company. I had many plans...
1. Get ECNR stamping on my passport
2. Get an NOC for my bike to transfer it to another state
3. Go home for 4 days and spend time with parents
4. Buy some stuff as I was relocating
I wanted to complete the above tasks as fast as I could. Though I didn't like, I gave the NOC job to a broker (my cousin's friend) 1 month earlier, who always says this job can be done in 1 day.
You can read my struggle with the passport office in my previous post, which is not issued till date :( even after I met the Deputy Passport Officer and submitted a letter twice to get this done soon... it should usually take 1 day and its been more than 2 months by now... that's my bad luck...
Then I concentrated more on getting NOC for bike, I met the broker who inturn gave my records to other broker, whom I had to whip with a hunter to make him do his task (I would have done it by myself)... It was the day before I planned to go home, the broker called and told me that I had to get NOC from police commissioner to apply for an NOC in RTO... why didn't that guy tell me this earlier... I told him to take it, but NOC will be given to the owner only, so had to go to Lakdikapul Commissioner Office in 40+ degreesC and apply for NOC. It was an easy task, no bribing, I was amazed.

Then next day I had to collect it at 3pm. My train was at 4pm from Nampalli, so I went to the commissioner office at 11am and requested them to give my NOC if it's ready. I told them that I have to catch a train at 4pm. It was ready and I saw it on the table. The guy inside told they will give it at 3pm only, but incase if I pay him 300/- I can take it now... I was left with no option, so I paid him and got the NOC. Then directly I went to RTO, met the broker, gave him left and right for informing me so late about all the process and finally getting it done by myself. But he was my cousin's friend so I didn't take my records back. Then I went home for 4 days had a great time with my parents and came back on 23-Feb-10. I had my flight to Bangalore on 24-Feb-10 at 9am. As soon as I reached Hyderabad on 23rd, I called the broker and went to KPHB to collect my NOC. The 1 day job which he told me 1 month back was done in 1 day... but it was my last day in Hyderabad. I gave his fees and said Thank You (F*** Y** in mind) and went back home.
My cousin bought a 16GB Sandisk pendrive for me when he went to CTC, Secunderabad. I went to his room to collect that, but I was shocked to see that it didn't work. It was 4pm then, we started on bike to CTC in heavy traffic via Begumpet. It took us 2hours to get a replacement. "Huh finally done" we thought... we were very tired and felt damn hungry, so we went to KFC, Jubilee Hills and had a 12pcs bucket of crispy chicken legs and chicken nuggets. Hero Navdeep was sitting with his friends just beside us... he looked more handsome than he was in the movies. Those guys were embarrassed to see us eat a bucket full of chicken legs and left silently :P
Then I bought a weight check in Brand Factory and went home at 11pm. That night, I noticed that I had a severe skin tan in the last 10 days.
Next day I woke up at 5am, got into the cab at 7am, reached airport at 7:45am, got the boarding pass at 8:10am, got into the seat at 8:55am, and said "Good Bye Hyderabad"...
